Introduction

Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation software used to create slideshows composed of text, images, charts, animations, and other multimedia.

Parts of PowerPoint

Title Bar

Contains the name of the presentation.

Quick Access Toolbar

Access frequently used commands like Save, Undo, Redo.

Ribbon

Main menu where you find tabs like Home, Insert, Design, etc.

Slides Pane

Displays a thumbnail view of all slides in the presentation.

Slide Area

Area where the content of the current slide is edited.

Status Bar

Displays information like slide number, themes, and slide layout.

Notes Pane

Place for speaker notes, which are not visible in the slideshow.

Zoom Control

Allows zooming in/out of the slide for better visibility.

Basic Slide Functions

Create a New Slide 

o Click on Home Tab > New Slide or use Ctrl + M

Duplicate a Slide 

o Ctrl + D or Right-click > Duplicate Slide

Delete a Slide 

o Right-click > Delete Slide or Select slide > Delete key

Change Slide Layout 

o Home Tab > Layout

o Choose from different pre-designed layouts (e.g., Title Slide, Title and Content, etc.)

Insert Text Box 

o Insert Tab > Text Box or use Ctrl + T

Insert Shapes 

o Insert Tab > Shapes

Change Theme 

o Design Tab > Themes

o Choose a pre-designed theme for consistent design.

Background Format 

o Design Tab > Format Background

o Choose solid colors, gradients, or images as a background.

Text Formatting 

o Home Tab > Font

o Use bold, italics, underline, font color, and size.
